Episode 10
Episode Review
Dar-e-Nijaat Episode 10 continues to show how quickly relationships can fall apart when people stop communicating and start making decisions based on anger, fear and assumptions. Zamil and Zaryab are now living together in the US, but instead of enjoying their new life, they are becoming increasingly distant.
Zaryab is beginning to realize that the person she is living with is very different from the Zamil she once knew. Meanwhile, Zamil continues to struggle with his changing beliefs and his expectations from Zaryab. The more he tries to create a life according to his own ideas, the more trapped Zaryab feels. And unfortunately, the problems aren’t limited to Boston. Back home, another marriage is reaching a breaking point.
Zaryab Finally Talks About Zamil
The episode opens with Zaryab speaking to Taniya. She admits that living with Zamil has become difficult because he seems like a completely different person now. This is an important moment because Zaryab isn’t simply complaining about another argument. She is beginning to understand that the problem between them is much deeper. She had expected their time in the US to bring them closer. Instead, she feels increasingly alone despite having Zamil right beside her. The irony is difficult to miss. Zaryab travelled to America for education and a new beginning, but her relationship is slowly becoming the biggest obstacle in that new life.
Zamil’s Expectations Keep Growing
Zamil continues to talk about the kind of wife and life he wants. The problem is that his expectations are no longer limited to his own choices. He increasingly expects Zaryab to change herself according to his understanding of religion, marriage and family life. Zaryab tries to explain herself, but conversations between them rarely end peacefully. Instead of listening to what she is actually saying, Zamil often interprets her choices as a rejection of his values. This makes their relationship even more complicated because Zaryab isn’t necessarily asking Zamil to abandon his beliefs. She simply wants the freedom to make her own decisions.
Faryal and Shuja’s Marriage Reaches the Breaking Point
Back home, the situation between Faryal and Shuja becomes much more serious. The arguments between the two families continue, and Habib becomes increasingly frustrated with the entire situation. Instead of finding a way to bring the couple together, the discussion eventually moves towards divorce. The arrival of the divorce papers changes everything. Faryal is devastated because she does not want the marriage to end. The situation becomes even more emotional when it is revealed that Faryal is pregnant.
Suddenly, this is no longer simply about two people who had an argument. There is now an unborn child involved, and the consequences of the family’s decisions become much more serious.
Dadi Understands the Weight of the Situation
Dadi’s reaction is noticeably different from everyone else’s. While others are angry and focused on who is responsible, she understands how serious the word divorce actually is. She knows that once a marriage reaches this point, everyone involved carries the consequences. Her reaction also fits with one of the drama’s recurring themes: older generations often understand the long-term consequences of decisions that younger family members make in moments of anger. But whether anyone will listen to her is another question.
Abu Bakar’s Marriage Becomes a Possibility
Meanwhile, Abu Bakar finds himself facing another unexpected situation. His mother begins discussing his marriage and appears to have already made up her mind about what should happen next. Abu Bakar doesn’t seem particularly enthusiastic about the idea, but he also doesn’t strongly resist it. There is a certain sadness in this storyline because Abu Bakar has already been through enough emotional complications. Now he is being pushed towards another major life decision. His hesitation suggests that he isn’t ready to simply accept marriage because someone else has decided that it is time.
Abu Bakar Still Thinks About Hamna
Hamna’s past continues to affect Abu Bakar. Even though she is no longer directly part of his daily life, the experience has clearly changed the way he thinks about relationships. He seems afraid of making another decision that could bring chaos into his life and his family. That makes his possible marriage particularly interesting. Is he actually ready to start again, or is he simply trying to protect himself from another complicated relationship?
Zaryab Is Losing More Than Her Relationship
One of the most emotional aspects of Episode 10 is watching Zaryab slowly lose control of her own life. She has ambitions. She has her education. She has a future she once imagined for herself. But so much of her attention is now being consumed by Zamil and the problems between them. The more she tries to keep the relationship together, the more she seems to lose sight of herself. That is what makes her situation so frustrating to watch.
Final Thoughts
Episode 10 is really about the consequences of relationships that are no longer being handled with understanding. Zaryab and Zamil are becoming increasingly incompatible, while Faryal and Shuja’s marriage has reached an even more serious stage. The biggest difference between the two stories is that Zaryab and Zamil are still trying to figure out whether they can live together, while Faryal and Shuja are already dealing with the consequences of a marriage that may be ending. And then there is Abu Bakar, who is being pushed towards marriage while still carrying the weight of what happened with Hamna.
The episode leaves us with several unanswered questions. Will Faryal’s pregnancy change the decision about divorce? Will Zamil finally understand what his behavior is doing to Zaryab? And will Abu Bakar actually agree to the marriage his family is arranging? For now, almost every major relationship in Dar-e-Nijaat seems to be standing at a crossroads.
