Episode 3
Episode Review
Episode 3 begins shifting the story from simple attraction toward something much more complicated. Se-gye finds himself unable to stop thinking about Seo-ri, even when he has no logical reason to be so affected by her. A strange dream only makes matters worse because it brings emotions to the surface that he does not fully understand.
The episode also gives more attention to Se-gyeβs past and his complicated relationship with Choi Mun-do. Their history helps explain why Se-gye has become such a guarded and competitive person. At the same time, the Joseon storyline provides more information about Dan-sim and the events that eventually led to her execution.
One of the best things about the episode is the contrast between the historical and modern versions of the characters. Dan-sim may have entered Seo-riβs body, but her instincts remain those of a woman who survived palace politics. She does not suddenly become a completely different person simply because she has arrived in 2026.
Meanwhile, Se-gye starts showing signs that his feelings for Seo-ri are becoming genuine. He still tries to maintain his usual cold attitude, but his actions increasingly contradict his words. The chemistry between the leads becomes much more obvious here, and the romance starts feeling like more than just a comedic setup.
Episode 3 therefore becomes an important turning point. The story is no longer simply about a Joseon woman trying to survive in modern Seoul. It is beginning to explore how the past can influence the present and how Dan-simβs old life may be connected to the people around her now.
