The first season of The East Palace combines Korean historical drama, supernatural horror, mystery and action into an atmospheric royal-palace story. The season follows Gu-cheon and Saeng-gang as they investigate a curse connected to the deaths of members of the royal family. As they move between the palace and the spirit realm, they gradually uncover secrets surrounding the pond spirit and the palaceβs troubled past. The eight-episode season builds toward a final confrontation as the supernatural threat closes in on the royal family.

And honestly, after watching the first episode, my biggest question was: Why does everyone in this palace act like seeing a ghost is just another item on the royal to-do list? Because things get creepy very quickly.
