The Scarecrow Episode 2 Review
Episode 2 expands the mystery by showing that Tae-joo’s investigation will require more than instinct alone. His reunion with Si-young remains uncomfortable, but the growing urgency of the serial murder case forces Tae-joo to concentrate on the evidence and the people who might help him understand what is happening.
Seo Ji-won’s involvement brings a useful new perspective to the investigation. As a reporter, she can pursue questions and information that might not be easily accessible through the police. Her participation also suggests that the case is becoming a matter of wider public concern rather than a problem that can remain hidden within the local police station.
Meanwhile, Gi-beom’s personal life introduces another layer of uncertainty. His uneasiness after seeing Sun-yeong leave work with a male colleague shows how quickly suspicion can affect relationships. These scenes provide a contrast to the main investigation, where suspicion also grows from incomplete information and appearances that may not tell the whole story.
Tae-joo’s observation of a student who resembles Gi-beom is particularly important because it reminds viewers that a promising lead is not the same as proof. The series builds suspense by making the characters interpret small details while leaving the audience unsure which clues truly matter.
Overall, Episode 2 develops the main mystery without rushing toward easy answers. The combination of investigative work, personal jealousy, and Tae-joo’s difficult relationship with Si-young gives the episode a layered quality. It leaves viewers with more questions about the killer and the people who may be connected to the crimes.
