Episode 7

Episode 7 brings a new complication into the romance when Mo Tae-hee makes her interest in Se-gye clear. Seo-ri has already started developing genuine feelings for him, so Tae-hee’s presence naturally creates doubt and jealousy. For someone as proud as Dan-sim, watching another woman openly claim the man she cares about is not exactly an enjoyable experience.

The episode does a good job of showing how Seo-ri’s feelings have changed. Earlier in the series, she was mostly focused on survival and figuring out how to use her new circumstances. Now she has something much more personal to lose.

Se-gye also finds himself caught between different pressures. His business responsibilities, family problems and relationship with Seo-ri begin colliding with one another. The man who previously seemed capable of controlling every situation is slowly discovering that emotional problems do not follow corporate rules.

The episode also continues developing the threat surrounding Choi Mun-do. His actions make it increasingly clear that the conflict between him and Se-gye is not something that can simply be ignored.

By the end of Episode 7, the romantic story has become much more serious. Seo-ri is no longer simply wondering whether Se-gye likes her. She is beginning to worry about whether their relationship can survive the people and circumstances surrounding them.
