Episode 8
Episode Review
Episode 8 turns the romantic tension up another level when Tae-hee announces her engagement to Se-gye publicly. The announcement naturally creates chaos because Se-gye himself is angry about it, while Seo-ri has to deal with jealousy and uncertainty.
For Seo-ri, the situation is especially difficult because she is still trying to understand what her relationship with Se-gye actually means. She has developed genuine feelings for him, but she also knows that her existence in the modern world is connected to circumstances she does not completely understand.
Things become even more serious when Choi Mun-do threatens Seo-ri and makes a demand. This moves the story away from simple romantic complications and puts the heroine in genuine danger.
Se-gyeโs reaction becomes increasingly important because his feelings for Seo-ri are no longer something he can easily hide. His anger and concern show that he is willing to challenge people around him to protect her.
Episode 8 therefore works as a bridge between the lighter romantic portion of the season and the more dramatic second half. The relationship is becoming stronger at exactly the same time that the threats around the characters are becoming more dangerous.
