Season 1 - Hero Introduction Arc
2015The first season of One Punch Man introduces us to the world of heroes and monsters through the eyes of Saitama, an ordinary man who trained so hard that he became invincible. The season follows his journey from being an unknown hero to joining the Hero Association and gaining recognition, all while maintaining his deadpan demeanor and simple lifestyle. The animation by Madhouse is spectacular, particularly during the action sequences, and the comedy is perfectly balanced with the action. The season finale against Lord Boros is one of the most breathtaking animated battles ever created, showcasing the full extent of Saitamaβs power while maintaining the showβs signature humor and subversive take on the superhero genre.

Season 2 - Human Monster Arc
2016The second season continues Saitamaβs story but shifts focus to introduce Garou, the βHuman Monster,β who becomes the central antagonist of this arc. The season explores the darker side of the hero world, questioning the morality of the Hero Association and the nature of monsters. While the animation quality took a slight dip with the change of studio from Madhouse to J.C. Staff, the storytelling remains strong. The season delves deeper into the motivations of various characters, particularly Garouβs ideology of becoming a monster to unify humanity against a common threat. The martial arts tournament arc provides some of the best action sequences, and the season sets up an exciting third season.
